Trainer: Rebecca Brown
Currently I am working as an Education Adviser at Nottingham University’s Student Union. Prior to this I worked as an advocate for homeless and vulnerable adults. The emphasis of this was on supporting clients to make sure their views, concerns, complaints and ideas were expressed in a way that not only ensured they were heard and responded to, but empowered them to make a difference in the services they were engaged with and their own lives. Part of my work was to develop the advocacy service in a way that ensured clients were listened to in the most appropriate way; to tighten up practice and promote advocacy as a positive experience for both clients and projects.
