Students' unions affiliate to AMSU for a wide range of reasons and will benefit in different ways depending on their size, the services they provide and how they choose to use AMSU. However, all students' unions joining AMSU are entitled to the same benefits:
Agenda Magazine
Each member union will recieve two copies of each issue of Agenda: the Journal for Student Movement Professionals. AMSU Member Unions may purchase extra subscriptions at a subsidized rate.
AMSU Weekly Update
Staff of AMSU Member Unions can register to receive AMSU Weekly Update via email free of charge. AMSU Weekly Update includes all the most important news from AMSU and our members as well as listings for jobs in the student movement.
Vacancy Advertising
AMSU Member Unions get a reduced rate for vacancy advertising in AMSU Weekly Update, receiving a 60% discount compared to non-members.
Members Only Web Resources
Staff of AMSU Member Unions can access the restricted areas on the AMSU website. This includes access to our Resource Library with over 1000 examples of practice in all fields from students' unions nationwide.
AMSU Training
Only Member Unions can book places on AMSU training courses. These courses are specifically programmed to meet students' union's needs in terms of content, timings and cost.
AMSU Specialist Groups
Attendance at AMSU Specialist Group events is restricted to staff of AMSU Member Unions. These events focus on specialist areas of students' union's work and are an outstanding opportunity for the professional development of specialist staff.
Specialist Mailbases
AMSU mailbases are email based discussion fora for students' union professionals in a range of fields, and are linked to our specialist groups.
AMSU Regions
AMSU has regional networks that come together to learn about and discuss key themes in students' unions. These networks are only open to staff of AMSU Member Unions.
AMSU Volunteering Opportunities
Volunteering with AMSU is an excellent professional and personal development opportunity for people working in all fields in students' unions. Having staff from your union volunteering for AMSU also benefits the students' union by putting your staff at the heart of AMSU decision making, giving you access to best practice from throughout the sector and keeping your staff motivated through their involvement.
ACEVO Membership deal
ACEVO is the membership for leaders of voluntary organisations. It has over 2000 member and aims to connect, develop and represent the sector's leaders, with a view to increasing the sector's impact and efficiency.
