About AMSU
AMSU is the Association for Managers in Students' Union. We support all students’ union staff who manage any aspect of students' unions services or activities - not just managers of staff. Nearly all permanent staff in students' unions fit with the AMSU definition of managers.
We aim to enhance the management of students’ unions through our support of staff in individual students' unions and our work on a national level (find out more about AMSU's Mission and Vision
here). We achieve this through a range of different activities.
Communities
AMSU builds communities of staff with common professional interests through Specialist Groups.
Development
AMSU helps develop students’ union staff to be the best they can be through a range of training and networking events throughout the year.
Working nationally
AMSU works nationally with partner organisations on issues around staffing in students’ unions, such as the work of the Diversity Action Working Group monitoring and promoting diversity in students' union staffing.
Shares good practice
AMSU shares information on developments and good practice throughout the sector, for example through the regular journal Agenda.
Promotes career opportunities
AMSU promotes career opportunities in students’ unions by listing job vacancies and promoting the benefits of working in the student movement.
